UHS Selected for Ninth Phase of FGCU’s Student Housing; Biscayne Hall to Become University’s First LEED-Accredited Residence Building

St. Petersburg - UHS announced today Florida Gulf Coast University’s selection of UHS to develop its ninth phase of student housing.

UHS has had a long partnership with FGCU, beginning in 1998 with the University’s transformation from a distance-learning campus to a living-learning campus community by developing their first student housing project. Since that time, UHS has continued to help FGCU meet its increasing student demand for housing by developing all eight phases of FGCU’s two student housing complexes, North Lake Village and South Village, consisting of over 2,500 beds.

This next phase of student housing will be LEED (Leadership through Energy and Environmental Design) accredited, the first FGCU residential facility to achieve this designation. The LEED accreditation will further enhance both FGCU’s status as Florida’s “environmental university” and UHS’ reputation as a leader in sustainable development.
